t.A.T.u. | 'All The Things She Said' (Flashback Friday)
t.A.T.u., i.e. Russian duo Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova, released their single ‘All The Things She Said’ worldwide back in January of 2003. Considered one of the best pop songs from the early 2000’s, ‘All The Things She Said’ is one of those rare songs that seemed to capture everyone’s attention - though most of it came from their (at the time) racy video. I still remember hearing this for the first time in my carpool freshman year of high school and being instantly hooked.
Sidenote: t.A.T.u. have been tapped to headline this years opening ceremonies for the 2014 Sochi Olympics - which could quite possibly be the most ironic thing to come from this years festivities. After months of bad publicity for President Putin’s stance on the LGBT community, the fact that they’ve enlisted t.A.T.u. (aka the faux-lesbian duo) to perform just boggles my mind, though I can’t deny the fact that I’m totally stoked to see them back together.
